Job Description:
- Provide required legal services diligently as assigned or instructed by HOD as well as monitor and provide supervision/guidance to Senior Executive and Executive in the provisions of required legal services
- Draft, review, comment, negotiate and advise on any agreements, contracts, tender and/or bidding documents, letters, board papers, board resolutions and any other documents in relation to projects and all other legal issues of the Group
- Liaise and manage external legal advisors including minimizing reliance on the same and controlling external legal costs and liaising with stakeholders on legal matters of the Group as and when required and necessary
- Attend and participate in discussions, negotiations and meetings with off-takers, joint venture partners, contractors and original equipment manufacturers or any external stakeholders of the Group, to protect the interest of the Group.
- Coordinate and advise on the preparation of legal dispute process with relevant internal clients and external advisors including compilation of the relevant documents, identification of relevant witnesses as well as attending the proceedings of the legal dispute.
- Advise on compliance and application of applicable laws, contractual and regulatory framework.
- Assist the HOD in the preparation of the legal updates for HOD’s presentation at Board management and committee meetings as and when required
- Assist the HOD in the preparation of the Key Performance Index (KPI) and conduct performance evaluation for LCD
- Assist the HOD in the preparation of the LCD’s reports and budget.
- Prepare the relevant internal procedures for the provision of the legal services.
Requirements:

Bachelor of Laws (LLB Hons) or equivalent and admitted to the Malaysian Bar.

7–9 years of legal experience in practice or as in-house counsel, preferably in the energy sector.

Strong background in corporate and commercial law, dispute resolution, project, and financing transactions.
