Every year since 2012, the staff of Prai Power Plant (PPP) will chip in from their own pockets to contribute to Rumah Anak-anak Yatim, Pertubuhan Al Mahabbah, Pauh Jaya, an orphanage nearest to the plant. Alhamdulillah, this year, they managed to raise RM2,000, which is the highest amount collected to date. In a short visit to the orphanage, Plant Manager Tuan Haji Anuar Lazim, presented the contribution to the orphanage.

Speaking of the contribution, he said, “The staff of PPP felt that it is our calling to help this orphanage as part of our social responsibility to the community. Being nearest to us, we felt obliged to assist our neighbours in need.”

“We started the initiative in 2012, and until now through contributions from staff, we have collected and contributed RM5,000 in cash to the orphanage,” he added.

To many, it might not be a significant contribution, but to the orphanage, a little goes a long way. The amount might seem small to us but it could mean the world to them.
