Malakoff organized a friendly futsal tournament on 6 September at Ferro Futsal in Taman Perindustrian Subang, for the third year running. The competing teams were Malakoff, the Energy Commission (EC), Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) and Economic Planning Unit (EPU).

This friendly round-robin saw the participation of 64 players comprising of 4 Men and 4 Women teams with each team fielding 8 players. The games kicked off at 9 am and the players didn’t waste time to battle it out for points from each game. The team with the highest points was named winner for each category.

TNB made a clean sweep as their teams were named champions for both Men’s and Women’s categories. They defeated defending champion, Malakoff in the Men’s category and maintained their hold in the Women’s category.

En Mohd Azizi Che Aziz, a representative from EC who we have been liaising with for this tournament, was pleased with the organization of the tournament. “The number of teams that joined is suitable for such tournament and the same format should be continued in the future,” he said.

“We are here to fulfil Malakoff’s invitation to strengthen our working relationships. Knowing that we are underdogs amongst the teams, we had expected to be defeated by strong and fit contenders like TNB. Nevertheless, Alhamdulillah, we did well in the matches.”
