About 1,000 residents of Mukim Serkat thronged Malakoff’s Ceramah Perdana that was held on 23 September 2018 at SMK Sri Kukup, Pontian that was presented by Ustaz Ebit Lew.
The Ceramah themed “Keluarga Sunnah” focused on building the model Islamic family as practised by Prophet Muhammad SAW more than 1,400 years ago.
In this digital age where children are more exposed to the Internet than previously, Ustaz Ebit noted that children are easily influenced by what they watch and read. Therefore, he urged parents to allocate more time for their children by participating in activities together, such as playing games, chatting and simply having meals together in a loving environment.
Through his observations, he pointed out that nurturing children with love will have better results than by scolding or hitting them when they are slacking.
He related his experience through street ‘dakwah’, where he goes to several night spots in the Klang Valley, talked to the people that he met to get to know them and understand their situations, and eventually, persuaded them to return to Allah. Most of them are not mischiefs but are just misguided by the lack of support or love from their families.
“Let us treat those around us with love and continue to guide them. We might feel that we face more difficult tests than others, but believe me, Allah tests us because He loves us and wants us to return to the right path,” said Ustaz Ebit.
The talk or ceramah was part of a two-day motivational programme, organised by Penghulu Mukim Serkat in collaboration with Malakoff, was geared at preparing around 342 students who will sit for PT3 and SPM examinations, by emphasising the importance of remembering Allah SWT, ibadah and Islamic values among them.
