A Five-month pregnant woman was among 1,000 people who took part in the Malakoff Penang Run 2010 at Taman Perbandaran here on 30 May 2010. Charlyn Holden, 31, a mathematics teacher at the Dalat International School here, said she took part in the women's 6km category to keep fit. She took about 35 minutes to complete the distance, running at her own comfortable pace.
A 29-year-old Kenyan, Alfred Kemboi, was the fastest runner finishing in 1 hour 30 minutes in the men's 26km open category.
"I am very happy as it is my first run in the race here," the professional runner said.
In the woman's 26 km open category, police constable Noor Amelia Musa, 24, grabbed the top position with at time of 1 hour 54 minutes.
"This is my first attempt in running a 26km race. I am happy to have won and clocked a good time," she added.
The Malakoff 26km and 6km Run, sponsored by Malakoff Corporation Berhad, is a community-based sporting event. Thank you to everyone who made the race a success!
