Lumut and Prai Power Plants Embrace the Joy of Hari Raya

9 May 2024

On 7 and 8 May 2024, Lumut Power Plant (“LPP”) and Prai Power Plant (“PPP”), owned by Malakoff Corporation Berhad (“Malakoff”) continued embracing the Aidilfitri spirit by organising Hari Raya celebrations for their employees and their families at Double Tree by Hilton Damai Laut in Lumut, Perak and at Bertam Resort in Prai, Penang, respectively. These two celebrations were intended to offer a meaningful closure to the ‘Meriahnya Syawal’ series – an annual celebratory occasion held in all Malakoff offices to strengthen bonds and foster employee unity, as well as promoting engagement.

In Lumut, Perak, the event was graced by the presence of Orang Besar Jajahan Manjung Perak YDH Toh Seri Bijaya Lt Kol (B) Dato' Shaharudin Haji Nazari, Malakoff’s Managing Director & Group Chief Executive Officer Encik Anwar Syahrin Abdul Ajib and LPP’s Plant Manager Tuan Haji Anwar Faisal Mohammed Din. Meanwhile, in Prai, Penang, the Eid festivities occasion was attended by the JKKP Pulau Pinang Encik Hairozie Asri, Encik Anwar Syahrin Abdul Ajib and PPP’s Plant Manager Encik Jauhar Mohamed.

LPP and PPP also took this opportunity to uphold their commitment to honouring their employees' loyalty by presenting them with the Long-Term Service Award (“LTSA”). Initiatives such as this aim to demonstrate a genuine appreciation for the employees’ hard work and dedication, fostering a culture of motivation and excellence within the workforce. The award was presented by Encik Anwar Syahrin Abdul Ajib, with one recipient for the 25-year category, 3 recipients for the 20-year category, 10 for the 15-year category, and 5 for the 10-year category.

The ‘Meriahnya Syawal’ series aligns with Malakoff’s core principle of cultivating stronger bonds and enhancing the welfare of its employees, demonstrating Malakoff’s steadfast commitment to supporting its workforce. It is in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (“UN SDG”) No. 8, which promotes inclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment, and decent work for all. It also aligns with Malakoff’s overarching purpose of ‘Enhancing Life, Enriching Communities’.
