On 25 October 2024, Malakoff Corporation Berhad (“Malakoff”) hosted a lively and engaging bowling tournament with Kelab Media Johor at Daiman Bowl, Johor Bahru. Aimed at fostering closer connections between Malakoff and media members, the event embraced a fun and casual 'Cowboy' theme, creating an upbeat and relaxed atmosphere for all involved. The turnout was tremendous, with 40 participants consisting of media practitioners from Utusan, New Straits Times, Astro Awani, Kosmo, Harian Metro, BestFM, TV3, Bernama TV, Sin Chew, Sinar Hairna, Hijrah, China Press, Makkal Raju, TVS and RTM, joining in the friendly competition.
For Malakoff, this was the first engagement with Kelab Media Johor, marking an exciting milestone in our longstanding tradition of active media outreach. As we continue to prioritise meaningful collaboration with key stakeholders, initiatives like this tournament reflect Malakoff’s commitment to nurturing and strengthening partnerships with the media.
The champions of the bowling tournament were Encik Aniq from TV Al-Hijrah, securing first place in the Individual category with 344 points, and Group 1 for Group category with 1,031 points, featuring Encik Padeli Dollah from Malakoff, Encik Azhar from BestFM, Encik Adnan from Kosmo and Encik Rizar from Harian Metro. Special honours for Best Dressed were awarded to Puan Hidayah from Malakoff (Female) and Encik Awang from RTM (Male). The awards were presented by Tanjung Bin Power Plant Manager, Encik Mohammad Amiruddin Kamaluddin, accompanied by Encik Azman Shawal of Group Communications & Branding Department.
This initiative also aligns with Malakoff's dedication to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal No. 17 – Partnerships for the Goals, reaffirming our pledge to bolster collaborative efforts and contribute to sustainable development. Through initiatives like these, Malakoff aims to build connections that support our vision for a more sustainable future, underscoring the value of teamwork and community spirit. It is also in line with Malakoff’s overarching purpose of ‘Enhancing Life, Enriching Communities’.
