Malakoff Holds Eco Fun Run in Conjunction with Earth Hour

17 March 2023

On 17 March 2023, Malakoff Corporation Berhad (“Malakoff”)’s Tanjung Bin Power Plant (“TBPP”) collaborated with Malakoff’s Tanjung Bin Energy Plant (“TBE”) to organise ‘Tanjung Bin Complex Eco Fun Run 2023’ in conjunction with Earth Hour 2023 that occurs every 25 March of the year.

Aimed at increasing awareness of the importance of maintaining good health physically and mentally while cultivating the spirit of camaraderie among staff, the event was held at Tanjung Bin Complex’s Alpha Gate and attended by close to 140 participants comprising TBPP and TBE staff, as well as their in-house contractors.

Earth Hour is a symbolic global event that happens every year where everyone in the world is encouraged to switch of their lights for one hour between 8.30pm to 9.30pm to show our collective support for the planet.

The Eco Run event commenced with a warm-up session and the flag-off was officiated by Plant Manager of TBPP Encik Mohd Kopli Yunus and Plant Manager of TBE Mr. Michael Andrew Fedosiuk, before bolting through the starting line into the running route which ended at Tanjung Bin Complex.

The prize giving ceremony was given to the top three runners for Male and Female. For Male, first place went to Muhammad Harussani Ismail, followed by Mazrim Mashar and Muhammad Amirul Ashraf Mohd Taha. While for the Female category, Nurisma Md Omar took the first place, followed by Humairah Mahpoz for second place and Nurhani Asyura Daud for third place. As a reward for their effort, a breakfast spread was prepared for staff to enjoy and take this opportunity to enhance their working relationship with one another.

There were booths set up by Lembaga Tabung Haji (“TH”) and Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (“PTPTN”), as well as health checks and talks by Gleneagles Hospital at the venue for staff to educate themselves on various health problems and preventive measures to be taken or considered in ensuring long-term well-being.

This event is part of Malakoff’s commitments towards the UN SDG Goal No. 3 where we promote healthy lifestyles and provide preventive measure and efficient healthcare for our staff and the community. We would like to thank everyone for their participation, and we hope to see you again next year!
