Malakoff Open Houses Strengthen Relationships with Staff and Stakeholders

25 June 2018

Between 26 June 2018 to 5 June 2018, Malakoff Corporation Berhad (Malakoff) hosted a series of Hari Raya Open House celebrations at its four site offices in Pontian (Johor), Lumut (Perak), Prai (Penang) and Port Dickson (Negeri Sembilan). The open houses were part of the engagement activities for the staff and their families, held in conjunction with the Hari Raya celebrations. Stakeholders from the local authorities, council and communities were also invited to join the celebrations. The event provided a good opportunity to reconnect with families and key stakeholders in a relaxed environment while enjoying the modest but delicious food.

Approximately a total of 2,000 people attended the open houses at Tanjung Bin (Johor), Lumut (Perak), Prai (Penang) and Port Dickson (Negeri Sembilan). 90 under privileged children from nearby orphanages were invited as guests of honours at Lumut, Prai and Port Dickson, and were presented with goodie bags and duit raya.

A wide variety of dishes including the local specialties was served to the guests, such as roast lamb, satay, apam balik, lemang, rendang, laksa, burasak, char kuey tiaw and a variety of cakes and kuih. Everyone looked exceptionally festive and came cladded in traditional Malay attire, with families dressed in similar colour schemes which added colour to the Hari Raya open houses.

Speaking at Prai Power Plant’s Hari Raya do, its Plant Manager, Ir. Mohd Razif Embi said, “The get-together allowed staff and their families to mingle and get to know each other better as well as strengthen the bonding further.” He added that such event also provided a good opportunity to improve further our ties with the local community and authorities.
