Malakoff Organises Its Second ‘Recycling Day’ at Malakoff HQ

26 June 2024

On 26 June 2024, Malakoff Corporation Berhad (“Malakoff”) successfully organised its second Recycling Day initiative with the theme “Let’s Turn Trash into Cash”. The programme took place at the Malakoff pickup and drop-off area at Plaza Sentral, simultaneously transforming the space into a small hub for environmental awareness and action. This initiative underscores Malakoff’s commitment to promoting environmental sustainability through recycling initiatives andis aimed to reduce its carbon footprint by promoting eco-friendly practices among its employees.

The Recycling Day initiative was a remarkable success as every department contributed its recyclable items with the goal of winning RM 500 prize for the highest value of recyclables collected. The total collection was an impressive 1,715.3 kg of recyclables. Every piece of trash brought in earned cash in return, highlighting the collective efforts and participation of all departments.

The winner, with the highest value of recyclables collected, was the Group Communications & Branding Department, with a total of 1,192 kg. Following closely in second place was the Digital Team, contributing 201 kg. Meanwhile, the Managing Director & Group Chief Executive Officer’s Office secured third place with 183 kg of total collection. These remarkable achievements were a testament to the dedication and enthusiasm of Malakoff’s employees towards environmental conservation.

This programme showcased Malakoff’s ongoing efforts to incorporate green initiatives into its corporate culture. It is in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (“UN SDG”) No. 12, which emphasises responsible consumption and production, aiming to ensure sustainable practices and reduce waste through recycling and other green initiatives. This aligned with Malakoff’s overarching purpose of ‘Enhancing Life, Enriching Communities.’

We would like to extend our gratitude to #TeamMalakoff for participating in the Recycling Day initiative. Your contributions have made a significant impact on the environment.
