In his speech, En. Kopli encouraged the students to study hard in their preparation for their first big examination and “to apply the skills and tips that you have learnt throughout the programme to score in the exams. Hopefully, one day, you will give back to your family and make everyone in Mukim Serkat proud.”
Throughout the programme, the students underwent various activities designed at building self-confidence and discipline such as talks on examination techniques and mental preparation for exams, team building exercises, indoor games and jungle trekking.
The lead motivator for the programme, En. Shahrulhaizam Abbas hoped that the students will take back what they have learnt during the programme and grow into good members of society and obedient children to their parents. In addition, he said that, “we want them to excel in their studies, we also want to prepare them mentally and spiritually as they face the challenges in their lives.”
A Year 6 student from Sg Chokoh, Rabihul al Qayyum bin Rizal, felt inspired after going through the activities with his fellow friends and UPSR candidates. “Thank you, Malakoff, for this wholesome experience. Now, I know how to better prepare for the upcoming UPSR and hope to score straight A’s and work towards improving my family’s livelihood.”
