Malakoff Corporation Berhad (Malakoff) wrapped up its Malakoff Vendor Day 2016 sessions with a finale held at TM Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur on 30 November 2016. More than 500 existing and potential vendors of services and products attended the sessions that were held in Northern, Southern and Central regions.
The Vendor Day 2016 was a collaborative event between Group Procurement, Business Process Improvement, Group Finance & Accounts Division, Group Corporate HSSE, all plant managers and section heads.
The aim of Vendor Day is to inform vendors on Malakoff’s revised or new policies and procedures as well as obtain feedback in making Malakoff better.
The first round was organised in Southern region on 17 November 2016 at Horizon Hills Golf & Country Club, Johor Bahru, followed by the Northern region at The Light Hotel Seberang Jaya on 25 November 2016.
In Central region, the session started with a welcoming speech by En. Affan Mohd Nawi, Senior Vice President, Corporate Service Division. En. Affan in his welcoming speech said “Malakoff is in the process of improving its procurement process through implementation of revised policies and procedures. We want to reinforce transparency throughout procurement process and work efficiently.” He also emphasized vendors to comply with Malakoff’s requirements on vendor policy and code of conduct.
Among the topics covered during the events were Procurement Process and Procedures, Vendor Policy and Registration, Vendor Code of Conduct, Invoice and Payment Processes and Safety talk. These topics were highlighted to the vendors to ensure that they are aware and understand the new implementations. Vendors were also urged to provide quality products and dependable services that contribute to the company’s competitiveness in the business.
A vendor clinic session was held at the end of the event where Malakoff’s personnel assisted them in addressing their concerns and issues regarding registration, procurement and payment processes.
