Malakoff Visits Flood Victims in Pahang

21 January 2021

On 22 January 2021, the Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer of Malakoff Corporation Berhad (“Malakoff”), Encik Anwar Syahrin Bin Abdul Ajib visited the employees of Alam Flora Sdn Bhd (“Alam Flora”) and Alam Flora Environmental Solutions (“AFES”) in Temerloh, Pahang who were heavily affected by the recent floods caused by severe weather conditions in the East Coast part of Malaysia. The visit was also attended by Alam Flora’s CEO, YBhg. Dato’ Mohd Zain Hassan.

A donation drive was held across all Malakoff units prior to this visit to spread awareness of the situation while providing the rest of the employees an opportunity to contribute to the flood victims.

Encik Anwar Syahrin spent some time with the affected employees to further learn and understand the gravity of the situation, while handing out donations in the form of basic necessities and allowances.

“In the spirit of camaraderie, it is important for us to show support to our fellow colleagues who are currently enduring hardships of their own. The very service that they offer, is the very service that they also need. This is the time for us to show our compassion and extend our assistance where we can. I also look at it as our way of expressing gratitude towards their commitment and determination in ensuring that the welfare of the public remains as top priority”, said Encik Anwar Syahrin.

The Group donated RM52,200 to the affected families of Alam Flora and AFES’ staff. As Malakoff continues to be at the forefront in carrying out Corporate Social Responsibility (“CSR”) activities, particularly in the areas we operate, we hope this initiative can serve as a morale boost for the affected victims to rebuild their homes and restore some form of normalcy back into their lives.
