Malakoff Corporation Berhad (Malakoff) bagged 2 Gold awards at the regional Team Excellence Convention (TEC) organised by Malaysia Productivity Centre (MPC). The awards were presented to Malakoff for Lean Six Sigma (LSS) projects on “Scaffolding Lead Time Improvement at Tanjung Bin Power Plant” and “C-Inspection Process Improvement at Lumut Power Plant”.

The projects were among 69 projects presented by various organisations from all over Malaysia via a series of five regional TECs. The last TEC was held in Hotel Perdana, Kota Bharu, Kelantan on 31 July – 1 August 2019 where Malakoff’s LSS Team participated.

The Gold winners from TECs are automatically qualified to compete at the national level, in conjunction with the 9th Annual Productivity & Innovation Conference 2019 (APIC) to be held at Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre, Petaling Jaya, Selangor on 5-7 November 2019.

Since 2011, MPC organises TECs as a platform for knowledge-sharing among companies on quality improvement techniques, where the projects are assessed by a team of Quality Experts.

Speaking on the awards, Dato’ Ahmad Fuaad Kenali, Chief Executive Officer of Malakoff acknowledged that Malakoff’s efforts in improving its quality and innovation have resulted in improved processes on its operations.

“This shows that operational improvements and cost optimisation can be achieved by focussing on quality and innovation by applying the right technique like LSS. To ensure that Malakoff remains competitive, we will continue to put more effort on improving our operational efficiencies by enhancing our systems, processes and procedures.”
