No Act of Kindness is Too Small - Malakoff, KeTSA and SEDA Give Back to the Community

30 April 2021

On 1 May 2021, Malakoff Corporation Berhad (“Malakoff”) had collaborated with the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (“KeTSA”) and Sustainable Energy Development Authority Malaysia (“SEDA”) to sponsor a ‘buka puasa’ event for 120 students residing at Rumah Amal Limpahan Kasih (“RALK”) in Puchong, Selangor. The event was further enlivened with a donation handover of RM7,110 yielded off a donation drive held across all departments and divisions in Malakoff, KeTSA and SEDA throughout the month of Ramadhan.

Strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (“SOPs”) imposed by the Government, the event was attended by the YDP Kelab Alam KeTSA, YBhg Datuk Mohd Haniff Bin Hassan, Assistant Director of Strategic Communications at SEDA, Encik Syeikh Mohd Iqbal Bin Mohd Yusof, Senior Manager of Stakeholder Management at Malakoff, Tuan Hj Md Yuha Bin Ismail and the Headmaster of RALK, Ustaz Zahid Hassan.

This is the first time Malakoff, KeTSA and SEDA have joined hands in driving forward such an initiative that is meant to foster the spirit of giving back to the community among its employees. Aside from the ‘buka puasa’ treat and the donation to RALK, Malakoff also surprised the students by handing out ‘duit raya’ hence, radiating the entire atmosphere of the event as they were completely taken off guard and were left feeling overwhelmed.

“A lot of the students here have been orphans since they were much younger, while some come from underprivileged families with limited resources and finances to go around. Our intention is to ensure that no matter what their circumstances may be, they will not be left behind when it comes to education. Therefore, we are truly grateful to receive such donation as we want to provide the best facilities and education to these students”, explained Ustaz Zahid Hassan.

“Furthermore, events such as these will give the students a chance to showcase their talent and encourage them to socialise and mingle with people outside of their circle. With that said, on behalf of RAKL, I would like to say thank you to Malakoff, KeTSA and SEDA for organizing this.”

This programme is part Malakoff’s Corporate Social Responsibility series where its activities continue to be a cornerstone of our foundation for sustainable development, as we work closely with our stakeholders to further enhance our close working relationship for the betterment of the energy industry.
