The 7km race comes with prizes in the form of product vouchers for the top 3 finishers in the four categories of Men’s, Men’s Junior, Women’s and Women’s Junior.
Elaborating on the race, Zainal explained, “At Malakoff, we are encouraged by the fact that the popularity of this run has transcended geographical boundaries evidently through the participation of runners across the country, even all the way from the two farthest ends of the Peninsular – Penang and Johor.“
“We are also very pleased that the race has drawn a good following from the Malaysian expatriate community as well. We are thus confident that even more athletes will join in this time around and make it yet another success,” he added.
Organized in collaboration with the Pacesetters Athletic Club Malaysia (PACM), the popular event has also attracted participants from Malaysia’s expatriate community. Last year’s race recorded participation of runners from 20 countries such as Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, Sweden, Japan, Kenya, United States and Singapore.
A fervent runner of decades, Rustam Affandi bin Zaihan the President of PACM said, “The Pacesetters Athletic Club Malaysia is pleased that Malakoff has been such a solid sponsor of community based races. Residents in urban cities such as Kuala Lumpur require an avenue to spend quality family time while participating in healthy sporting activities. Malakoff clearly understood the need and has played its part to address that requirement.”
The race is co-sponsored by Bukit Kiara Equestrian & Country Resort, Powerbar, Gatorade, World of Sport, Mizuno, Perskindol, Athlete’s Circle and Quick Release Adventures.
