Let’s thank God that the majlis berbuka puasa for all sites and KLHQ office were carried out successfully. True to the spirit of Ramadan - remembering the less fortunate one, the orphans, the old, the poor and single mothers celebrated and received early Eid ul Fitr cheers to brighten up their raya.
In KLHQ, a free-and-easy berbuka event was held at the Muzium Kesenian Islam. The orphans from Pondok Penyayang Raudhah were the special guests for the day and each received a packet of duit raya. It was satisfying to be able to bring smiles to their faces in this blessed month of Ramadan. As they devoured the tasty Middle East spreads by the chefs of the museum's restaurant, clients and staff mingled and they were gathered to perform Magrib, Isyak and Terawih prayers together.
In Lumut, the majlis berbuka puasa was held at Damai Laut Resort, where staff and their families took this opportunity to break their fasts together. Prior to breaking fast, some kids were seen putting their heads on the table, waiting anxiously for the food. It's good to see them starting their fasting habit while they are still young.
In Prai, a simple yet cozy majlis berbuka puasa was held at Sunway Hotel, Seberang Jaya. The elderly from Wanita Islam Kubang Semang were the guest of honors. Staff of Prai Power Plant collected donations and distributed the collection to the elderly during the event. What a good example from the staff and hopefully this good deed will be continued in the future. Well done!
In Tg Bin, tents were put up at the parking lot next to the admin building, to welcome special guests from Mukim Serkat. 179 single mothers and the poor received RM100 each while 73 orphans received RM50 each. These were the contributions from Tg Bin Power Plant and RPSB. The traditional Bugis food, burasak was the main attraction as many swarmed the burasak counter for the delicacy with rendang daging and asam pedas ikan merah as side dishes.
Another majlis berbuka puasa this year - true to the giving spirit and to bring benefits to the occupants near the places where we operate, we will continue this event year in, year out, if God permits.
