On 15 March 2019 Malakoff Corporation Berhad (Malakoff) organised a friendly football match with the Energy Commission (ST), as part of its efforts to maintain and enhance the working relationship with key stakeholders.

The match took place at Institute Semarak Felda’s football pitch and kicked off at approximately 8pm. Players from both sides fought for possession of the ball from the start of the game, and at the 15th minute, Shafiz Amzary scored the first goal for ST. Malakoff players kept pressuring ST’s defense, and succeeded when Syed Abdullah scored an equaliser for Malakoff, assisted by Haniff Ab. Hamid.

The second half saw a more intensed game as both teams tried to break away from the draw. Amirulazry dribbled through Malakoff’s defence and managed to score ST’s second goal, raising more strain and pressure in the atmosphere. Determined to secure a victory, Malakoff defended ST’s subsequent attacks which resulted in a second equaliser by Yuha Ismail, assisted by Zulkefli Muhammad.

With both teams drawing 2-2 by the end of the second half, a penalty shootout took place to determine the winner. ST put their best players forward to take the penalty kicks, but their shots were saved by Malakoff’s keeper. The penalty shootout ended with Malakoff scoring 2-1 and winning the match.
