Company Ramps Up Plant Capacity to Support Growth of KL Sentral

Malakoff Corporation Berhad’s (Malakoff) wholly owned subsidiary, Wirazone Sdn Bhd (Wirazone), recently signed the Chilled Water Supply Agreement with 348 Sentral Sdn Bhd, Excellent Bonanza Sdn Bhd and NU Sentral Sdn Bhd, the developers of mix development projects in KL Sentral. With this initiative, Wirazone is set to boost its current Centralized Chilled Water Plant’s capacity of 7,000 Refridgerent Ton (RT) to 17,000 RT to meet the growing development needs of the KL Sentral district.

The newly secured partnerships form part of Wirazone’s commitment in supporting the growth of Malaysia’s key transportation and business hub. Currently, Wirazone is supplying 7,000 RT chilled water to 4 buildings namely KL Sentral blocks A, B, C and D. With the increased capacity, the Company estimates that it will be able to supply to an additional 5 buildings.

At the signing ceremony, Zainal Abidin Jalil, Chief Executive Officer of Malakoff said, “Today’s signing ceremony is indeed a proud milestone for us as it represents not just an expansion project for the Company but also our commitment to be a part of the growth story of KL Sentral as the key transportation and business hub in the heart of Malaysia’s capital.”

The TES enhances the property’s Green Building Index as the technology is energy efficient in its delivery to end users. Given Wirazone’s strength in Operation and Maintenance (O&M) optimization coupled with its highly efficient equipments, the Company is confident that it will be able to create more value for its partners in the years to come. Additionally, the Company is also always on the lookout for optimal design strategies to further maximise operational efficiency.
