In conjunction with the Hari Raya celebration, Malakoff Corporation Berhad (MCB) hosted a series of Hari Raya Open House celebrations at its three site offices in Pontian (Johor), Lumut (Perak), Prai (Penang), as well as in Kuala Lumpur headquarters (KLHQ) between 23 June 2019 to 3 July 2019. The open houses served as an engagement activity where staff and key stakeholders from the local authorities and communities were invited to join as the events provided good opportunity to strengthen bonds and mingle in a relaxed environment.
Approximately 2,400 guests including staff attended the celebrations, with the presence of Chief Executive Officer of Malakoff, Dato’ Ahmad Fuaad Kenali and members of the Senior Management Team.
At Lumut Power Plant (LPP) and Prai Power Plant (PPP), 66 under privileged children from Pertubuhan Kebajikan Ikhwan Bistari Perak and Rumah Permata Kasih were invited as special guests, respectively, and they were presented with goodie bags and ‘duit raya’.
Speaking at LPP, Plant Manager En. Mohd. Salehuddin Abu Bakar said, “It’s important to hold get-together events like this as not only it encourages a close-knit bond among the staff, but also enables us to strengthen our rapport with key stakeholders in a more relaxed setting.”
A wide variety of dishes including the local specialties was served to the guests, such as roast lamb, satay, apam balik, lemang, rendang, laksa and a variety of cakes and ‘kuih’. On top of that, everyone was looking exceptionally festive and came cladded in traditional Malay attire which added more colour to the Hari Raya open houses.
At KLHQ, inter-level competitions were held in conjunction with the event consisting of ‘Pertandingan Anyam Ketupat’, ‘Pertandingan Pakai Samping’ and Hari Raya Best Dressed.
The excitement was high in the ‘Pertandingan Anyam Ketupat’ and ‘Pertandingan Pakai Samping’ as staff unveiled their hidden talent and unfold their competitive nature in the competitions that tested their skills and creativity. This holds true when all teams were seen enthusiastically communicating and encouraging each other to ensure the crafts were made to perfection, while getting the cheer and support from their colleagues.
