Malakoff Corporation Berhad (“Malakoff”) recently organised an iftar with 300 students of Maahad Tarbiah Islamiah Al-Ansar in Bestari Jaya, Selangor which houses and educates children who have lost their parents. The event, as part of the company’s #ShareOurLove programme, was held at the school’s newly constructed Open Hall which has been furnished with LED lights and fans contributed by Malakoff and installed by our #TeamMalakoff volunteers. Maahad Tarbiah Islamiah Al-Ansar was majorly affected during the severe floods back in December 2021.

During the event, a contribution of RM4,225 collected through a donation drive across all divisions in Malakoff in the month of Ramadhan, was handed over to the Headmaster of Al-Ansar, Ustaz Rosazli Md Yasin by Encik Md Yuha Ismail (Senior Manager, Stakeholder Management Department), on behalf of the company. Additionally, duit raya was also distributed to 50 students of Al-Ansar to add to the festive mood.

There was also an educational talk by a representative from the Energy Commission, Ir. Shafie Mohamed on precautionary measures when using electricity during a natural disaster. The talk was indeed insightful and provided attendees with useful tips on practising safety at all times.

The event provided much joy to the students of Al-Ansar. One of the students, Mohd Amirus, expressed his gratitude to #TeamMalakoff for the time and resources spent to restore the hall to pristine condition during the fasting month. “I hope Malakoff will earn as many pahala for the good deeds they have performed here,” he said.

The #ShareOurLove programme continues to be a cornerstone of Malakoff’s Corporate Social Responsibility (“CSR”) initiatives, focusing on the Community pillar. Besides enhancing a close working relationship with various stakeholders and the local communities, we hope that initiatives like these will further cultivate the spirit of ‘giving back to the community’ while fostering a stronger bond between one another.
