Malakoff Corporation Berhad (“Malakoff”) once again collaborated with the Islamic Religious Council of Federal Territory Zakat Collection Center (“PPZ-MAIWP”) to help the underprivileged throughout the month of Ramadan this year. The month-long initiative, “Ramadan MAIWP Bersama Komuniti” saw Malakoff’s participation in a series of iftar programmes to not only relieve the financial burden of the B40 community and ill-fated children who have either lost their parents or are unable to be under their care or supervision, but to also cultivate the culture of giving and having empathy among each other.

This yearly affair commenced on 12 April 2022 at Maahad Tahfiz Bustanul Quran in Taman Wahyu where a donation of RM5,000 was made to the school in addition to 100 food hampers and RM100 duit raya being distributed to 100 students. On 14 April 2022, a RM7,500 donation was made, and packed foods were distributed to 75 dyslexic children from Persatuan Dyslexia Malaysia by Malakoff.

Encik Anwar Syahrin Abdul Ajib, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (“MD/CEO”) of Malakoff also partook in this engagement by visiting Rumah Amal Asnaf Al-Barakh in Hulu Klang on 21 April 2022. He handed over a donation of RM18,000 in addition to RM100 duit raya and food hampers distribution to 43 students and underprivileged children of the orphanage.

The series concluded on 23 April 2022 at Dewan Merak Kayangan in Kuala Lumpur where a donation of RM10,000 was made by Malakoff to Sekolah Tahfiz & Asrama Anak Yatim Angkatan Tentera Malaysia (“STAY ATM”) and RM100 duit raya was also distributed to the children of STAY ATM during a special musical performance to keep the attendees entertained before iftar.

This year, contributions totalling RM72,500 were made through Malakoff’s Wakalah Zakat fund as part of its on-going Corporate Social Responsibility Community Programme to contribute to the socio-economic and educational growth of the nation.
