Customers’ Day has been a popular, annual event for Wirazone. It is a gesture of appreciation, of gratitude for the strong support received from its many loyal customers. And it also gives both the hard working staff of Wirazone and their equally busy Customers an opportunity to unwind as friends after the many, many long hours put in at work & caring for their home.

Wirazone’s inaugural Customers’ Day outing in Year 2008 took place at Taman Alam (Nature’s Park) over in Kuala Selangor. This year, we saw the numbers growing as more groups trouped out into the plush greenery of the famous Forest Research Institute of Malaysia – or better known as FRIM – over in Kepong.

The weather was very kind on the Saturday morning of 8 October 2011. Just the right amount of sun to make it a beautiful day out.. Customers and staff of both Wirazone and Malakoff, showed up full of energy, excited and enthusiastic for this year’s Treasure Hunt. After half an hour of jungle trekking led by the highly experienced FRIM team, folks re-grouped at 9.30am on an open field for the flag off by Head of Wirazone, En. Ainul Azman. A total of 28 groups of Treasure Hunters comprising 4 participants each were raring at the bit! A good mix of Wirazone/Malakoff staff, Customers and our 40 specially invited guests -- orphans from Rumah Amal Peribadi Mulia, Kajang – were in attendance. The first group of Treasure Hunters beat the clock by coming back to base camp around noon! Despite the day heating up considerably by then, a few Treasure Hunters were heard commenting the time was much too short! They wanted to explore the jungle more!!

Here were the Champion Treasure Hunters 2011 & their loot:

• 1st Prize ~ FR’S TROOPS from Prudential BSN walked away with a total of RM800 cash and a knapsack each

• 2nd Prize ~ MAXISIAN from Maxis walked away with a total of RM600 cash and a knapsack each

• 3rd Prize ~ THE EDGE from Allianz walked away with a total of RM400 cash and a knapsack each

All then settled for a yummy lunch together. Children aged 12 & below were treated to a host of activities including Sand Art and a fun Telematch soon after. Peals of laughter were heard as the children battled it out with gusto at more than 10 exciting games. Adults were not forgotten. For these ‘big-children-at-heart’, we had a few fun games and karaoke sessions lined up to keep them well entertained.

Given the beautiful setting, it was only fitting that this outing involved capturing the magic of the place and people. So, this year, we also included a Photography Contest. The judges are in for a tough time indeed, vetting through the amazing images captured. Winners of this Contest will be announced via email by end October 2011.

Good food, good friends, lots of fun, exciting prizes they won, beautiful weather in a lush, natural, green forest … Exploring Nature at its best.
