Norafinaz is the Head of Corporate Thermal Generation under Thermal Division at Malakoff Corporation Berhad. She joined Malakoff in 2006 as an Engineer in the Asset Management Division at Lumut Power Plant and later moved to the Commercial Department at headquarters, specialising in contracts management.
With over 20 years of experience, she has held various roles across the company, including a key secondment to the Tanjung Bin Energy coal-fired power plant project from 2012 to 2016, where she managed critical contract deliverables that contributed to the plant’s successful commercial operation.
She previously led the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and Commercial Department in the Local Generation Division before assuming her current position. Her expertise covers Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), O&M agreements, fuel supply agreements, Engineering, Procurement & Construction contracts, insurance management and dispute resolution. She has successfully led the extension of PPA concessions for three gas-fired power plants through competitive bidding in 2025.
Norafinaz holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Chemical Engineering from Vanderbilt University, USA. She is a member of the Board of Engineers Malaysia and a certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
