Syahrunizam Samsudin, is the Group Chief Executive Officer of Malakoff Corporation Berhad (Malakoff). He joined Malakoff on 1 September 2025, after a successful stint as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of UEM Edgenta Berhad.
Syahrunizam held other numerous leadership roles including Chief Executive Officer of TnG Sdn Bhd where he led Malaysia’s largest electronic payments company through a full digital transformation plan and successfully launched the TnG e-Wallet via a joint venture with Ali Baba’s Fintech company, Ant Financial.
Syahrunizam was also Chief Executive Officer of MTU Services (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, President of Scomi Engineering Bhd, as well as being involved in the setting up of technology ventures such as SBS Technology Solutions and Ata Plus. He also played a leading role in the setting up of iPerintis (currently Petronas ICT Sdn Bhd) and later became its Chief Operating Officer and Head of Operations.
Syahrunizam graduated from the Australian National University with a double degree; Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Bachelor of Laws (LLB) with Honours. Syahrunizam is also a member of the Harvard Club of Malaysia and the Institute of Marketing Malaysia.
Syahrunizam is deeply passionate about leadership and self-development and is active on the speaking circuit especially amongst emerging talent and young professionals to prepare the future workforce to be more resilient and to be adaptive to change.
