Tan Sri Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin, aged 65, a Malaysian, was appointed as the Chairman and Independent Non-Executive Director of the Company on 1 March 2026.
Tan Sri Wan Zulkiflee holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) from the University of Adelaide, South Australia. He has also completed the Senior Management Program at INSEAD and the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. He is a Fellow of the institute of Corporate Directors Malaysia (ICDM) and an Honorary Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers, United Kingdom.
Tan Sri Wan Zulkiflee brings over 37 years of extensive leadership experience in the global energy industry. He began his career with Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS) in 1983 and held various senior leadership positions before retiring as President and Group Chief Executive Officer in June 2020. During his tenure, he also served as Chairman of the National Trust Fund. He was also a council member of the East Coast Economic Region Development Council (ECERDC) and the Northern Corridor Implementation Authority (NCIA), where he chaired the Audit Committees of both agencies.
At the international level, Tan Sri Wan Zulkiflee had served as a Director of Exxon Mobil Corporation. He was on the Council of ASCOPE and one of the Oil & Gas Governors at the World Economic Forum. He is currently on the Advisory Board of National Energy Services Reunited Corp., a NASDAQ-listed oilfield services company based in Houston, Texas.
In the education sector, he previously served as Pro-Chancellor of Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS and on the Board of Trustees of the Razak School of Government. He was also an Adjunct Professor at the Kulliyyah of Economics and Management Sciences, a member of the Industry Advisory Board and served on the Board of Governors at the International Islamic University Malaysia.
He currently serves as Chairman of DRB-HICOM Berhad, Gas Malaysia Berhad, Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad and EON Petromin Sdn. Bhd. He previously served as Chairman of Malaysia Aviation Group and Malaysia Airlines Berhad.
