On 22 November 2025, the Malakoff 50th Anniversary Family Fiesta brought the entire Malakoff community together for a vibrant celebration of unity, appreciation and shared spirit. Staff from across the Group, together with their families, filled Putrajaya Wetlands with warmth and energy, turning the milestone into a meaningful reminder of the people who have shaped Malakoff’s 50-year journey.
The festivities began as staff and their families arrived with their “green tickets” plastic bottles and cans contributed through the #KitaRecycle initiative. This simple yet meaningful gesture reflected Malakoff’s commitment to sustainable habits, even in moments of celebration. The official kick-off featured an address by Malakoff’s Group Chief Executive Officer Syahrunizam Tan Sri Samsudin, followed by the release of a giant commemorative balloon, symbolising five decades of growth, resilience and shared progress. A lively Zumba warm-up carried the momentum forward and set the tone for the day.
The excitement continued with the 5km Fun Run/Walk, flagged off by Syahrunizam together with top management from Malakoff’s subsidiary, Alam Flora Sdn. Bhd., including Chairman, Tan Sri Abu Kassim, Director, Datuk Dr. Syed Muhamad, and Chief Executive Officer, Shariman Yusuf Mohamed Zain. Staff and families joined the run in a spirited display of unity and active living, reflecting Malakoff’s emphasis on wellbeing and community connection.
A special Emblem Signing Ceremony later brought together members of the leadership team, accompanied by a rousing bagpipes-and-drums performance from the Setapak Highlanders Marching Band. The signing of the 50 Years Emblem served as a collective affirmation of Malakoff’s legacy and its shared commitment to the future.
The fiesta also celebrated tradition and togetherness through a series of nostalgic kampung-style games, including Tarik Upih, Gunny Sack Races and Batik Runs activities that sparked laughter and friendly competition across generations. The day drew to a memorable close with a performance by Faizal Tahir, followed by the grand lucky draw that wrapped up the celebration on a high note.
As we mark this milestone year, the Family Fiesta highlights Malakoff’s support for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (“UN SDG”) No. 3: Good Health and Well-Being, by encouraging an active lifestyle and a strong sense of community among our people. We continue to move forward together, guided by our purpose of ‘Enhancing Life, Enriching Communities’.
