Malakoff Hosts Iftar Gatherings and Distributes Kotak Prihatin Across Key Communities

Malakoff Corporation Berhad (“Malakoff”) recently organised a series of Iftar gatherings alongside the presentation of Kotak Prihatin Malakoff throughout the month of Ramadan, bringing together communities across Pontian, Prai and Lumut in a shared spirit of compassion, generosity and togetherness.

In Johor, the programme was held at Masjid Al-Amin, Kampung Sungai Dinar, Pontian, with the Mukim Serkat community. The event saw zakat contributions presented to nine mosques, alongside the distribution of Kotak Prihatin Malakoff to selected asnaf recipients. Representing Malakoff, Acting Plant Manager of Tanjung Bin Energy, Nor Azizi Mazalan, presented 389 Kotak Prihatin Malakoff during the ceremony as part of the company’s continued commitment to supporting those in need.

In Pulau Pinang, Malakoff hosted a similar gathering at Masjid Jamek Prai, engaging closely with members of the local community. A total of 30 Kotak Prihatin Malakoff were distributed, with the programme attended by Plant Manager of Prai Power Plant, Jauhar Mohamed, in a show of solidarity and care for the surrounding community. The initiative also extended to Batu Kurau, Taiping, Perak, where 210 Kotak Prihatin Malakoff were distributed to the asnaf community. In Lumut, the initiative continued with the distribution of 60 Kotak Prihatin Malakoff to the asnaf community of Kampung Segari at Masjid Khairul Jariah, with contributions presented by Plant Manager of Lumut Power Plant, Muhammad Ismat Ismail, as part of Malakoff’s ongoing efforts to uplift and support communities during the blessed month.

Across all three locations, the programmes concluded with the breaking of fast and Maghrib prayers, creating a warm and meaningful space for connection, reflection and shared gratitude. More than just an annual initiative, these gatherings reflect Malakoff’s belief that Malakoff’s meaningful relationship begins with openness and corporate social responsibility to the community, particularly the local community.

Through these initiatives, Malakoff continues to support the well-being of the communities it serves, guided by a genuine commitment to care, inclusion and long-term impact.

As Malakoff moves beyond 50 years of operations, this initiative is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (“UN SDGs”), particularly SDG 11 Sustainable Cities and Communities, in line with its purpose of ‘Enhancing Life, Enriching Communities’ and its commitment to the communities it serves.
