Malakoff Corporation Berhad (“Malakoff”) recently organised its annual Program Jom Ke Sekolah Bersama Mukim Serkat 2025, hosted this year at Sekolah Kebangsaan Serkat. The programme brought together school representatives, community leaders and parents in a shared effort to support students in preparing for the 2026 school session.
The event was officiated by a Member of State Legislative Assembly (“ADUN”) Yang Berhormat Datuk Haji Jefridin Atan. Representing Malakoff was Acting Plant Manager of Tanjung Bin Energy Power Plant, Nor Azizi Mazalan, who delivered the welcoming address and reaffirmed Malakoff’s continued support for the local community through education-focused initiatives.
Organised in collaboration with Jawatankuasa Tindakan Mukim (“JKTM”) Mukim Serkat, the programme involved seven participating schools, namely Sekolah Kebangsaan Serkat, Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Sinaran Chokoh, Sekolah Kebangsaan Andek Mori, Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai Boh, Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai Durian, Sekolah Kebangsaan Permas Kelapa and Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (C) Pei Chiao. The initiative reflects Malakoff’s ongoing engagement with these schools, many any of which form part of its Sekolah Angkat Madani network.
As part of this year’s programme, 348 students received school uniforms and school bags to help ease the financial burden on families and support their readiness for the new school year. More than just providing assistance, the programme also seeks to encourage regular school attendance and reinforce the community’s collective commitment to helping children learn and thrive.
As Malakoff marks its 50th anniversary, Program Jom Ke Sekolah reflects Malakoff’s commitment to community development in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (“UN SDG”) No. 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities. Through ongoing collaboration with local partners and schools, we continue to support initiatives that strengthen social wellbeing and uplift the communities around our operations, guided by our purpose of ‘Enhancing Life, Enriching Communities’.
