    Sharing important news and updates for you and the community Back Wirazone Signs Chilled Water Supply Agreement With Major KL Sentral Properties 18 June 2012 Company Ramps Up Plant Capacity to Support Growth of KL Sentral Malakoff Corporation Berhad’s (Malakoff) wholly owned subsidiary, Wirazone Sdn Bhd (Wirazone), recently signed the Chilled Water Supply Agreement with 348 Sentral Sdn Bhd, Excellent Bonanza Sdn Bhd and NU Sentral Sdn Bhd, the developers of mix development projects in KL Sentral. With this initiative, Wirazone is set to boost its current Centralized Chilled Water Plant’s capacity of 7,000 Refridgerent Ton (RT) to 17,000 RT to meet the growing development needs of the KL Sentral district. The newly secured partnerships form part of Wirazone’s commitment in supporting the growth of Malaysia’s key transportation and business hub. Currently, Wirazone is supplying 7,000 RT chilled water to 4 buildings namely KL Sentral blocks A, B, C and D. With the increased capacity, the Company estimates that it will be able to supply to an additional 5 buildings.     Sharing important news and updates for you and the community Back Upholding Standards for Bribery Prevention - Malakoff Has Been Officially Certified with ISO 37001:2016 ABMS by SIRIM 2 May 2021 On 3 May 2021, Malakoff Corporation Berhad (“Malakoff”) was honoured with the certification of ISO37001:2016 Anti-Bribery Management System (“ABMS”) by SIRIM QAS International Sdn Bhd (“SIRIM”) for its commitment in upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct, integrity and accountability in all of its business activities and operations, which complies with the new Section 17A of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (“MACC”) Amendment Act 2018 (“the 2018 Act”), enforced by the Malaysian Government on 1 June 2020. The handover ceremony was graced by the attendance of President and Group Chief Executive SIRIM YBhg Dato’ Dr Ahmad Sabirin Bin Arshad, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Malakoff Encik Anwar Bin Abdul Ajib, Senior General Manager from Management System Certification Department of Sirim, En. Mohd Hamim Iman Mustain and Chief Operating Officer of Malakoff, Mr. Clive Anthony Smith.     Sharing important news and updates for you and the community Back Malakoff Sends off Second Cancer Patient to Umrah 15 November 2017 Malakoff Corporation Berhad (“Malakoff”) today sent off a second brain cancer patient, Mohamad Uthman Mohamad Saiful, 7, to Mecca to perform umrah. Also present at the airport was Executive Vice President, Operations of Malakoff, En. Habib Husin. Uthman received a sponsorship to perform the umrah from Malakoff, together with his parents who accompanied him there. Earlier in May this year, Malakoff sponsored the first cancer patient, Zarifah Zaara Zamry and her parent to Mecca to perform umrah. The media highlighted the plight of the two Stage 4 cancer patients to perform umrah in April this year and as a caring corporate citizen, Malakoff stepped up to sponsor these young cancer patients to fulfil their dreams. Uthman’s mother, Norafidah Yahya, 32, said that Uthman was grateful beyond words when he was informed that he will be leaving for umrah. “Since last night, he was unable to sleep as he was too excited at the thought of witnessing the Kaabah for the first time.” Uthman also wished to personally pray in front of the Kaabah that he will overcome his illness and live a normal life as other kids of his age. Norafidah and Uthman’s father, Mohamad Saiful Jadin took one month to prepare for their trip to ensure their journey went smoothly, including Uthman’s medication and final health check. They also prayed that Uthman is in a good mental and physical condition to perform umrah. Asked what he wanted to do when he reached Mecca, Uthman said, “I want to pray in front of Kaabah so that I will not be sick anymore, just like how my mother taught me to pray every day.”

    Sharing important news and updates for you and the community Back Malakoff and the Energy Commission Compete for the 2022 Football Challenge Trophy 16 June 2022 As part of Malakoff Corporation Berhad’s (“Malakoff”) continuous engagement with its key stakeholders, the Group organised a friendly football match with the Energy Commission (“ST”) on 17 June 2022 at the Majlis Perbandaran Sepang football field in Cyberjaya, Selangor. After a two-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, teams from both sides were eager to meet again on the pitch in this traditional event that brought together top players from the respective sides. Both teams were vying for the coveted Challenge Trophy which was last won by Malakoff in 2019. The players entered the field and took their position before the referee blew the whistle at sharp 8:30 PM, with both sides getting off to a great start with concerted attempts at both sides of the pitch. Despite the heavy downpour, the players put up a spirited display in what turned out to be an entertaining match, cheered on by supporters from both sides. ST's Muhammad Nazrin Afifi drew first blood by putting the ball at the back of the net to give ST the lead in the first half. The second half began with an offensive game from both teams after a much-needed respite. The teams played a more heated game in the second half, with Malakoff making several attempts to score to level the game. However, luck was not on our side as the ST team held on to their lead. After a closely fought match, ST’s lone goal proved the difference as ST emerged as the champions and took home the Challenge Trophy for this year. The event helped to foster camaraderie between Malakoff and ST while enhancing the working relationship between both parties. It was a great opportunity for both sides to display their sportsmanship while competing for the trophy. Everyone present thoroughly enjoyed the match and the spectators were certainly treated to an entertaining showdown between both sides. Congratulations to ST and kudos to Malakoff for the excellent game!

    Sharing important news and updates for you and the community Back Malakoff Vendors’ Awareness Day – Enhancing Procurement Practices & Strengthening Governance 13 June 2022 Malakoff’s Procurement and Risk Management teams with Tuan Jayakantha Kumar, Deputy Head of Government-Linked Companies (“GLC”) & Private Sector Brand (standing, fourth from right) The third edition of the Malakoff Vendors’ Awareness Day was successfully held on 14 June 2022, in collaboration with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (“MACC”) at Malakoff’s Headquarters, Plaza Sentral, Kuala Lumpur. The event, held virtually, witnessed overwhelming participation from registered vendors as we continue to work together with our business associates to uphold governance best practices. The main objective of this event was to improve the quality of Malakoff’s procurement procedures, enhance its process efficiency while promoting transparency and strengthen the company’s contract management processes. This initiative is also in line with Goal 12 and Goal 16 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (“SDGs”) which involves promoting public procurement practices that are sustainable as well as committing to fight corruption and increase transparency, respectively. Mr. Anthony Hiew, Malakoff’s Head of Group Procurement giving his welcoming remarks to the vendors In his welcoming remarks, Mr. Anthony Hiew, the Head of Group Procurement highlighted that the topics covered in this event had been carefully selected to enable vendors to have a better understanding of Malakoff’s requirements and increase their awareness on procurement best practices. Tuan Jayantha Kumar reiterates the importance of integrity Encik Adi Faimi, the Head of Risk, Process Improvement & Integrity then led the session with a brief introduction to Malakoff Group’s Anti-Bribery Management System (“ABMS”). This was followed by a presentation by Tuan Jayantha Kumar, the Deputy Head of Government-Linked Companies (“GLC”) & Private Sector Brand from the MACC on Section 17A Corporate Liability & Bribery Matters. His talk focused on the various acts of bribery that commercial organisations are prone to commit should integrity guidelines be compromised, and the subsequent catastrophic implications on the individual and the organisation. Q&A session with the participating vendors The virtual session proceeded with other speakers presenting on various topics such as vendor management, procurement processes & procedures and tender formats, along with a Q&A session at the end of each topic. Participants were also introduced to the Group’s Vendor & Document Management Portal System (“VDMP”), a new platform to process Malakoff’s procurement via the online portal. The event ended with a fun, engaging quiz which gauged the participants’ knowledge and awareness on the MACC Act, Whistleblowing Policy, and the Vendor Code of Conduct. Overall, this initiative successfully brought together our business associates with a common goal of ensuring efficient, effective and ethical procurement processes, in parallel with strong governance practices. On 27 November 2020, Malakoff was honoured with the certification of ISO37001:2016 ABMS by SIRIM QAS International Sdn Bhd for its commitment in upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct, integrity and accountability in all of its business activities and operations. This is in compliance with the new Section 17A of the MACC Amendment Act 2018, enforced by the Malaysian Government on 1 June 2020. The Group continues to carry out key governance activities as part of its ESG efforts, focusing on building an effective and accountable working environment.

    Sharing important news and updates for you and the community Back Malakoff Continues Turtle Awareness Programme 24 May 2017 Malakoff Corporation Berhad (Malakoff) in collaboration with the Fisheries Department, today continued the Company’s annual ‘Kenali Penyu, Sayangi Penyu’ Turtle Awareness and Educational Programme at Segari Turtle Management Centre (TMC) for the sixth year running. This year’s edition of ‘Kenali Penyu, Sayangi Penyu’ programme continued to promote awareness among the public on the threats to turtles. The event brought together 120 volunteers from the Fisheries Department, students from Institute of Marine Engineering Technology, Lumut campus of Universiti Kuala Lumpur, and staff from Malakoff’s Lumut Power Plant. In addition, Malakoff also contributed RM13,000 to the Fisheries Department for TMC’s maintenance. Speaking at the event, Ir. Mohd Azmi Jusoh, Plant Manager of Lumut Power Plant said, “The ‘Kenali Penyu, Sayangi Penyu’ programme is one of our annual projects to demonstrate our commitment to environmental sustainability. We want to be responsible to our neighbour, TMC by playing an active role in protecting the rich ecological biodiversity especially in the areas where we operate.” “We are grateful for the good cooperation received from the Fisheries Department that we are able to increase the level of awareness of the local fishermen and community on the plight of the turtles and encourage them to be actively involved in conservation efforts of the endangered species,” he added. During the event, the volunteers participated in a gotong royong with the local communities to spruce up the buildings and vicinity of TMC. Participants also attended a talk on turtle awareness conducted by a representative from Turtle and Marine Ecosystem Center (TUMEC) which highlighted the important part individuals can play in conserving turtles. The highlight of the event was the release of baby turtles into the sea. The participants were given the rare opportunity to hold young hatchlings in their hands before an emotional send-off that saw the baby turtles disappear from the shoreline, into the open sea. Acknowledging Malakoff’s continuous effort and collaboration with the Fisheries Department, En. Kasim Tawe, Head of Management & Resources Rehabilitation, Perak Fisheries Department said, “I would like to thank Malakoff for its commitment towards turtle conservation by championing this event for the sixth consecutive year. Prior to this, Malakoff released two turtles with satellite tracking device to assist us in accumulating crucial knowledge about the endangered species and offer us with knowledge and experience that can further contribute towards more effective conservation of the turtles.” Previously, Malakoff had organised Giant Clam Restoration Project and Coral Rehabilitation Project at Pulau Mentinggi and Pulau Aur in Johor to sustain the restoration of the marine ecosystem around the islands. To date, Malakoff has also planted a total of 44,000 mangrove saplings in Pulau Pinang and Johor since 2011.

    Sharing important news and updates for you and the community Back Minister of KeTTHA and Entourage Visit Tanjung Bin Power Plant and Tanjung Bin Energy (T4) 10 April 2015 On 11 April 2015, YB Datuk Seri Panglima Dr. Maximus Johnity Ongkili, Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water (KeTTHA) visited Tanjung Bin Power Plant (TBPP) and Tanjung Bin Energy (T4). He was accompanied by Datuk Loo Took Gee, Secretary General of KeTTHA, Datuk Ahmad Fauzi Hasan, Chief Executive Officer of Energy Commission (EC) and senior officers from KeTTHA and EC. The delegation was hosted by Dato’ Sri Che Khalib Mohamad Noh, Group Managing Director of MMC Corporation Berhad and Dato’ Sri Syed Faisal Albar, Chief Executive Officer of Malakoff. The purpose of the visit was to view the operation of Tanjung Bin Power Plant and Tanjung Bin Energy (T4)’s construction progress. The visit started with a short briefing session on the TBPP operation and T4 project. Later, the delegation visited T4 construction site to view the actual progress of the new power plant. After the site tour, YB Minister commented that, “After observing T4’s construction activities and being briefed on the actual progress, I am positive that Malakoff’s 1,000 MW coal fired power plant’s progress is on track. I am also confident that the plant will be able to start its commercial operation in March 2016.”
